November
gobble gobble
This time of year the months go by so fast, I realized I hadn’t even started writing this month’s post until a few days ago, oops! It was another good reading month, I think now that it gets darker earlier I am much more inclined to get into bed by 8pm and start reading. This month’s highlight was attending the Amelia Island Book Festival’s Fall Literary Luncheon! Two of my favorite authors: Madeline Martin & Martha Hall Kelly were in attendance and I got to speak with them and get my copies of their books signed. It was a lovely fundraiser and I recommend looking up the gala and festival, they take place at the end of February next year. Amelia Island has beautiful beaches and great indie stores, I promise it is worth traveling to.
November’s Reads & Reviews:
The Storm by Rachel Hawkins: this nice balance between suspense and historical fiction made for a fun read set during a hurricane. While not my favorite by the author, I think this would be a good summer read. It releases in January which is an odd date to me, but could be enjoyed any time of year I suppose.
Love & Saffron by Kim Fay: I love an epistolary novel so I ate this one right up. Told in letters between friends, and discussing mainly food, there are deeper topics and takes place during the 1960s which isn’t a time period I read much about.
Resident, Interrupted by Ashley Kate Bourne, DO: a local friend of mine self-published her memoir! As someone that works regularly with doctors, I have never quite considered the arduous journey it takes to becoming a doctor. This book was really eye opening and discussed the importance of mental health. I would recommend to fans of Grey’s Anatomy and anyone looking to get a first hand account of the tough road to working in the medical profession.
Conform by Ariel Sullivan: y’all know I love a dystopian novel. I am quite shocked this was a debut novel and the first book to be printed under Jenna Bush Hager’s new imprint Thousand Voices. I think it’s best to go into books like this blind and just enjoy the ride, but know that I loved it and recommend!
KLR’s Currently:
Watching📺: Stranger Things Season 5, cannot wait for the rest of the episodes to be released, Netflix is really putting us through the ringer by not releasing all episodes at once it’s a bit frustrating
Listening🎧: Normal Gossip had a fun Thanksgiving themed episode I enjoyed
Puzzling🧩: this one is in process and I hope to finish it ASAP so I can start on Christmas ones I have at the ready

OMG! That literary luncheon sounds like so much fun! I'm seriously jealous, haha!
